The inspiration for this painting was an Indian peasant girl dressed in a colourful sari in Rajasthan. A young boy is drawing water from the well to fill the containers that the girl will carry home on her head. This is a rural scene as observed when travelling near the desert city of Jaisalmer. The sari is the traditonal dress of women in India, consisting of a very long piece of cloth swathed around the body.
Supplied unframed, ready to hang. This painting would be a wonderful gift for someone special, perhaps as a wedding, anniversary or Christmas present.
