This is St. Mary's, the Parish church of Chiddingfold in the Church of England diocese of Guildford. A fine example of an historic English village church. Chiddingfold is located in Surrey, south of Guildford on the way to Petworth. It is a small and beautiful village centred around the Green, the Pond, St. Mary's Church and the Crown Inn.

The present church is believed to have been begun around 1180-1200, built with the local bargate stone. The site may have had an earlier Norman or even a Saxon church. St. Mary's was extended at various times. The tower was built and one of its bells dates from around 1470. Major restorations were made in 1869 and the 20th century.

The church contains many fine stained glass windows of various ages, including fragments of medieval glass. From the 13th-16th century, Chiddingfold was famous for the manufacture of glass and indeed there were ten "glass houses" within 5 kilometres of the village. In 1240 glass was supplied for Westminster Abbey in London. The latest addition to St. Marys is a beautiful Millennium Window with a design inspired by the text "A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal" (Revelation 22,1).
